WordPress for college magazines

January 14th, 2010

While we don’t use it where I work, WordPress for college magazines has been getting a lot of attention lately.  I’m reading about it on e-mail lists, and hearing it in seminars and on discussion boards – it looks like more and more institutions are moving to, or considering the flexible platform to handle their online magazine publishing needs.

I’m a big fan of WordPress, personally.  It is very simple to get the tool to do what you need – use it for a blog, a magazine, even use it as a CMS.

The community of WordPress users is large, and if you’re stuck on something, chances are that someone else was in your shoes at one point in time, and the answer to your question is a Google search away.

CollegeWebEditor has a good post on WordPress today: Why should magazine editors and writers use WordPress in the first place?
